cinematic experience is consistent with our contemporary perception of the city.  velocity is the primary informer of this experience, undermining normative understandings of urban hierchies and constructs.  movement is completely implicated in understanding. form and space become legible onlythrough the composition of fragment, glimpse and blur in memory. this is cinematic.

plan sequence consists of a series of experiments in and around this position.  this includes sevenprimary digital filmic compositions made in varied contexts,  three architectural projects that act as experiments within this understanding, and a series of essays and artifacts that attempt to frame these experiments.

curatorial position    the exhibition is a synopsis of the work from this laboratory to date.  as such it uses the gallery to ‘test’ therelationship between the filmic and architectural

parti’s through the simultaneous viewing of them.

exhibition design    the 7 films are composed as one longfilmic composition, individually titled and credited.  they are projected on the west (far) wall of the gallery as either

single or double frame, as projected in their original commissioned context. Two projectors will be used. each of the 3 architectural projectsare presented within their own ‘armature’.  content includes three dimensional and experiential drawings and conceptmodels.  these ‘armatures’ are seen as tables or cabinets aligned north/south in gallery parallel with the view to the film projections.  the individual ‘armature’ is understood concurrently with the filmic composition, ie when viewing one the other is in easily within view.
